Hi ladies!!
Gastric Bypass surgery??!!??
Pros/cons? Looking into getting it done!! I know every where is priced different etc... but if comfortable how much were you out of pocket IN a private health fund?? What doctor/surgeon would you recommend? I am in Sydney, AUS! ☺️ photos of before and after would be a bonus too ☺️☺️☺️

Before getting weightloss surgery my surgeon gave me the best advice ever. He said if you over eat you need to work on why you over eat before the surgery. Because if you are an emotional eater you will still be an emotional eater after the surgery, but you'll be sick and ruin the surgery and have no coping mechanism.
So I went and worked with a dietitian and psychologist before the surgery. Best thing I did. I've had friends who didn't and they had a really hard time post surgery.
I put on weight with pregnancy and couldn't lose it. I overate because of hormones and the surgery fixed that. I now feel like I did pre children before I was fat. Super easy... I just finally feel like me again. Out of pocket 1200. No complications. No gallbladder issues.
Can I ask who you went with for the surgery ? :)
While you're waiting. Give 5:2 and 16:8 a go. I've been doing it for 5 months and even after the xmas period I'm down 20kgs. I actually feel in control of my food first time ever. I'm an emotional eater too.
I'm not discouraging surgery but it isn't going to hurt to give these a go.
Just Google it and there is heaps of information/books. Also Facebook groups that are great support.
I got the gastric sleeve done last year and have lost 45kg. Best thing I ever did. Can’t recommend it enough if you’ve tried everything else (ie Weight Watchers, shakes etc). All up for everything, out of pocket costs came to around $4k with a high level of health insurance. I’m in Melbourne.
