Live in au pair

Does anyone have an au pair?
We do and I'm struggling to get her to socialise on her off time. In her time off it's almost like she's my child she waits to be cooked for, I have to ask her to tidy up after herself and always wants to spend time with me, though I'd like some time to myself or alone with my children. Has anyone experienced this and could you offer any advice?.
Don't get me wrong we like to spend time with her just not all day everyday!.

Is she young? Sounds like she hasnt developed adult independence yet.

If you hired her through an agency I’d contact the agency for advice.
She sounds like she isn’t the right fit for your home.

Is she foreign and here working? She may not know anyone to socialise with :)
