Hi all!!
Just wondering if there are any support groups for parents with children that have a stutter. We are using the Lidcombe program to treat it, but would just love to be able to talk to others who are going through what I do, and helping my child through when things get a bit bumpy (5yo).
Thanks ☺️

Hi :) ,
When I was around 5yrs old I had a stutter and my mum use to sit with me at night and use word cards and would sound them out for me and get me to repeat and we did that for a few months and we would progress to harder words once I got the hang of it and if I did well I would get a minty or a teddy bear sticker. So that might be an idea you could try also.
Hi my son was around 3 when he developed a stutter. I thought he would grow out of it but as it got worse I organised speech therapy for him. He attended once a week and I was taught therapy homework which a did with him at home everyday. His stutter was slowly leaving.
My son started school and the first parent teacher interview I asked how he was coping with his stutter. The teacher didn't even know he had one.!!! I was so thrilled!! All the hard work had paid off. He is now 10 and enjoys life without a stutter we have never looked back.
Wishing you all the best x
