Teen suicide

Hi all. My friends 15 year old daughter had attempted to take her own life a little over a week ago. I'm looking for help for my friend and ways of dealing with this and helping her daughter through.. She has hidden every pill possible she had hidden every knife and razor. She and her husband aren't sleeping because they don't want to leave her but the hospital say she is safest at home.. Please help!!!

Have they arranged for referrals to see a psychologist? The entire family should be referred to psychologists for on going support. If they don't have those they need to make a long appointment with there GP to organise mental health care plans.

The daughter is definitely better off at home. In hospital she would be in a psych ward which are incredibly scary places, on top of that she would be in with people who are far more experienced at harming themselves, meaning she will pick up tips on how to do it better, while in hospital.

I know how hard it can be, although my son didn't attempt suicide he was extremely mentally unwell and there were a lot of sleepless nights.
