Has anyone pulled their children out of upper primary and homeschooled?
I have two children that I am thinking of doing this with. We have the option of sending them to school to learn science or tech etc things that I may not be able to cover well at home, and to give them another social avenue outside of team sports and homeschool meetings. (Ie meeting with other local homeschoolers)
Just wanting some stories both good and bad. Still weighing the options. We aren't in a country town, we are in the city so we have access to lots of things like museums, galleries, law courts, parliament and the like. We can also join our local homeschool association so that we can join in group activities with medieval society or science excursions.
What are people's experiences?

I home schooled for a few years it was less work than people think but takes a real commitment and wasn't something I found natural for me. Some experiences I've seen in other families (although they never mixed with other home school families so that could have contributed) was difficulty for the kids to settle in to the routine of high school, and eventually dropped out. I think it's really important for them to keep a routine 'of going to school' (at home) just like you would if you worked from home otherwise it's easy to slide into 'no schooling'.
