PCOS, facial hair & metformin

Several years ago a keyhole procedure gave me a definitive answer thus being I have pcos and endometriosis.

Fortunately I was able to conceive my beautiful children without medical intervention.

At present the combination of the mirena, pcos and endometriosis is halting my weight loss. I am terribly overweight and while I'd love bariatric surgery, it's financially out of reach at present.

My GP has recently prescribed metformin. I would love to hear success stories of those who have managed to lose weight with the combination of metformin and a sensible diet while suffering pcos.

Also, when the weight was lost did you see an improvement in the reduction of facial hair? Mine has gone crazy and I struggle with my vanity with it.

I have no advice regarding medication and weight loss but I wish you all the best there.
In regards to the facial hair, have you considered laser treatments? A new laser clinic opened up in my local shopping centre and I was quite surprised at how affordable it is.

I would love laser treatment. I live in a small country town though and no treatment is offered locally (I did start but the place closed down and left town). Driving to the closest clinic two hours away every four weeks with 4 very young children just isn't financially possible either 😩. But thank you for your reply.

Hey Cyster! I have PCOS too and have found a ketogentic lifestyle to be super effective in not only weightloss but also in helping other symptoms such as ovulation etc. It's a diet that consists of high fat, low carb. Sounds crazy, I know but I swear it works. Google keto and good luck on your journey xxx
