War

Is anyone preparing for war?
I'm talking about the hoarding of bottled water and chick peas, survival kits etc.
I know it sounds silly but I often think about what I'd do and what I need to be prepared for my family if the worst was to happen.
So is anyone else thinking about these things too or acting on them?

Lol nope! I live in the present not the future but have watched TV shows on people who prepare. They seem batsh** crazy some of them!

Nope. Sadly if war does break out I doubt we will survive longer than a few days with or without supplies. World War 3 will most likely be nuclear.

I think about it when I watch something like the walking dead. Laugh at myself, then move on. We have more pressing matters in this house that needs my brain to focus. Problems that are happening now. Can't live your life in fear.

I think sometimes being prepared/taking precautions is the sensible thing to do. For example, people in far north Qld may be wise to be prepared for cyclones etc.

In terms of prepping for wars, economic collapse, bio attacks, zombie apocalypse or whatever other mad theory's the doomsday peppers expect to happen, I think that's a really sad way to live (to take it to that kind of extreme at least).

Though, I do tend to think it's just common sense to have some bottled water and spare pantry supplies just in case.

Yes! We live in a place that's had a lot of very long power outages. So we have a small supply of candles and batteries.

We've got it all planned out, whether it's Kim Jong-un, Trumpy or Zombies we've got it covered as best we can.

There is a group of us, probably 30 or so and we don't have secret bunkers of supplies but we all have a role to play -hunters, gatherers, protectors etc. Mine is the gardener, if food can be grown I'll be in charge of growing it so I save seeds from my garden, friends gardens, public gardens etc. Nothing particularly batshit crazy or sad about it, just a little bit of a safety net and all it takes is a well organised seed storage system.

And IDC what anyone says, it's cool to be zombie preppers.

I decided to post here instead of FB because of all the haters I got yesterday when I responded to your comment. I deleted my comment there, they think they know everything!
What you are suggesting is not unreasonable, just don't let it take over your life. Having canned goods and water etc, is sensible for any sort of emergency situation. If a major disease outbreak or terrorist attack occurred close to home and you need to confine yourself to home for weeks for instance, then having basic supplies is a good idea. Nuclear war is scary, and complicated in terms of survival, if it happened close by you wouldn't survive anyway which may not be a bad thing compared to dying slower of radiation poisoning etc. But if a nuclear attack occurred further away and you need to hide away for a period of time to reduce exposure, then again supplies would be needed. Let the haters all try heading off to the supermarket under those circumstances
