Ear piercing

Hi parents, I'm wondering my daughter would like a second set of earrings.. what age do other people think that would be ok for her to do?

Questions I would ask myself.
Does she look after her ears now? If not my answer would be no. Can she manage changing her own earrings etc? If not, no. Does she look after the jewellery she has? If not, no. Does she play a sport or attend a school that would make having new piercing difficult to manage?
Do you feel she is old enough, how do you feel how they look on a girl her age? Do you think it's a fad or something she will grow out wanting in the future.
i don't think there is an ideal age.

I had my seconds done in my early 20s, at a very reputable place. I followed the after care procedures specifically and one ear still became infected, to the point my ear swelled around the stud and I couldn't get it out. I had to get hubby to cut it off with a pair of pliers while I sat crying on the floor, it was excruciating! It completely changed my opinions on piercings (I had previously had my baby daughters ears pierced), now I tend to think this is a choice they should make when they are old enough to understand the implications.
I'm not telling you this to scare you off the idea, my point is - any time you get a piercing, there is a potential for infection. If you don't think she's manage with that kind of situation should it arise, I would insist she wait.

Both my girls have their ears pierced now but any other piercings they want, they have to wait until they're old enough to pay for it themselves lol.
At the end of the day though, it's your choice if you want to allow it but I do think under 10 -11 is too young.

Thanks everyone my daughter is 8, she's pretty mature for her age and is very good with looking after her jewellery etc, I'm not sold on the idea yet maybe I'll re asses in a year if she's still asking ☺️
