I just wanted to thank all the wonderful IM's that answered my question about having a scheduled c-section after an emergency one, and my fears and anxiety that came with that. And also my other question about our growth issues (we were told she was in the 8th centile and had a few other hiccups also). Our little girl entered the world last Monday very healthy and with no issues, weighing 5lb 9oz and 49 cms long. We had such an amazing experience, one so very different from my first born son. I was unable to hold my son and didn't meet him for over an hour after the emergency c-section which came about after 24.5 hours of labour, but this time with my daughter being a planned c-section, I got to hold her immediately. I got to have her with me in recovery, and we were allowed to leave hospital on the second day. My breastfeeding journey has been so much easier (still hard work but a lot less stressful and emotional than the first time round), my healing time has been so much quicker and less painful. And my "day 3 baby blues" didn't seem so blue at all. So I guess I just wanted to reassure all the mums that have to go through what we did that everything is so much nicer and more relaxed, and again thank everyone for their reassuring and calming words to me - you all have no idea how much you helped me and my husband get through the scary times. Much love and blessings to you all xx

Congratulations :-) I had a scheduled c section and healed to the point where I felt absolutely normal by 2 weeks after bub. My 2 tips would be keep on top of pain meds in the first week and sooner you start moving/getting around the quicker you heal. Ohhh those and listen to your body. It has a way of letting you know if you have overdone it :-)
