Baby after vasectomy...

My partner and I are wanting another child. One problem, he has had a vasectomy. We didn't have any problems falling pregnant with our other children. Luckily for us it happened without even having to 'try' (so no fertility problems). We are trying to avoid a reversal if possible as we are 100% on just having 1 more Bub. If you've been in the same boat, could you tell us your experience?

- What was the procedure?
- How long before you investigated to starting the procedure and falling pregnant?
- How many times did you try before falling pregnant?
- How much did it cost?
Anything else you think may be of great advice, please feel free to add in.
We are waiting on a call from the professionals, but would like some advice from people who have experienced this. Please no negative comments!

We are in QLD if that changes things.

Thank you ladies so much!

I'm the opposite way, I had my tubes tied and I met a new man and we wanted one of our own. 2 years after we met.
We went through IVF. If you have private health insurance then you're your out of pocket costs will be less, if you're in Australia and have access to Medicare it will be less again.
They can extract semen from his testicles and put it in a dish from eggs extracted from your ovaries. But it's quite likely you'll need to go through a whole IVF cycle. Your out of pocket costs can be anywhere from $6000 to $12000 it could be more because of your husbands semen extractions. I got lucky my first cycle and am currently 18 weeks pregnant today. It could take you more than one cycle and you may need to be prepared for that.
