Being the first weekend of school holidays, I let my 2 sons (10 yo & 9 yo) stay up a bit later last night. It was 10.45pm as we were going to bed and my 9yo asked me to sleep in my bed as his dad was working overnight. At around 11.15pm, he started acting really strange - said that he didn't want to be in my room anymore, he felt "funny" and something was creeping him out. I told him everything was fine and to go to sleep, etc. Not 2 mins later, he burst into tears and said he had to get out, he felt that something bad was going to happen in my room. So we went and lay in our toyroom - him on the sofa, me on a 1 inch thick yoga mattress (woke up feeling like a 90 yo!). It was 2am before he calmed down, he kept telling me to stay close to him so "they" didn't get me. He woke at 7am still a bit upset and swearing not to go into my room until the "2 men" had gone.
I'm in two minds about how to feel at the moment - when he was a baby, he used to be playing/laughing and then would stop and start waving at absolutely nothing - he would babble, wave and laugh for up to 10mins. We have lived in our current house for 6 years and approx 4 years ago, had the Police turn up to interview my partner after he was assaulted by a drunk patron at his work. Both officers looked at my hubby and said they remembered our house as it used to be a child safe house amd a disgruntled father who took the house hostage with a cane knife was shot dead in our front yard in 2008. Our real estate never mentioned this to us nor our out of state landlord.
I guess my question is - has this happened to anyone else before? I have been reassuring him all day that we are fine - but he's not really buying it. Any suggestions? Anyone else's child have an episode like this? He is a very loving and affectionate boy who also has some behavior issues that have improved over the years.

If my kid did that I wouldn't be going in my room either 😂
Kids imagine monsters under there bed and in there wardrobes all the time. Jeez my mum couldn't sleep on her own until she was in her 40s because of imagined monsters. So it could just be that.
But it's also worth keeping note of any episodes. There are some strange seizure disorders and migraine disorders that cause visions etc and so if it happens again it's worth a chat with your GP.
I definitely think children can sense things adults can't, which goes completely against everything I believe in lol. I believe in science and facts, I am skeptical of the paranormal but I too have experienced things that I cannot rationally explain.
When I was a child, I would often hear someone walking up the wooden stairs in our home (you know how wooden stairs make a very distinct sound when people are walking up them). This would always happen in the middle of the night when we were all in bed and only on rainy nights. Slow, deliberately heavy steps, it terrified me to the point I'd be paralyzed with fear. I couldn't call out to my mum or anything.
I guess just keep trying to reassure him and maybe tell him you believe him. It always used to make me feel worse when my mum would ride it off as typical kid overactive imagination.
Also, is it possible that he experienced a night terror?
My daughter has had many experiences of these and they are quite awful. She becomes very distraught and is impossible to calm, almost like she's awake but not awake if that makes sense. She doesn't really make much sense and the look of fear on her face is like nothing I've ever seen.
Maybe if he's still frightened you could 'cleanse' your house.
Get him to help you, open all the windows and wash all the bad feelings out the window or light some nice smelling candles to get rid of the bad energy.
My daughter did something similar saying "I can't sleep because they are to loud" and would point to the corner of the roof.. Most nights she refused to sleep in her room we moved house (not because of this) and she has been perfectly fine ever since
I definitely believe!!
Yes. He sleeps with a picture of Archangel Michael beside him (for protection) and knows he can call on Him anytime. We also imagine 'protective' bubbles of light around him. You can do a 'cleansing/clearing' of the home, by burning a sage stick. Or find a psychic medium who specialises in space clearing.
On a side note, you can break your lease as they are meant to disclose that info to you prior to buying/renting a property
Children aren't like us in that they just accept what they see and don't block anything. Most children start to block before this age and generally don't open themselves up to see until they are well into their late teens/early twenties when they can handle it. I would buy myself some sage sticks and sage the house. Intention is everything. Say it loud that you want them to leave. It may feel foreign to you and a bit silly but trust me. That side of the world does exist and it can weigh heavy on your mind. Especially a little one 😉 Make it as light heated as you can for him. More like a game. Let's flush out those monsters style of thing. Also a spray bottle filed with distilled water and lavender oil or something like that. Call it monster spray. Tell him to keep it with him. If you have access to crystals, black stones are great for repelling negative energy. Again, many people don't believe but i don't much care for that. I've lived it. It's real and you can arm yourself. Chances are they are there out of curiosity more than anything else.
My daughter was 8 when her spiritual side became apparent.
She sees auras around people and things. She was absolutely freaked out and even became suicidal until we sort help and it was explained to her as normal for some people with a gift.
When we moved into a new house she kept asking if an old woman once lived in her room as she could see her watching over her some nights. She was comfortable with it as she understood the lady was harmless.
We have discovered smudging - burning of white safe as a way of eradicating the house of bad spirits.
We find that when everyone is not sleeping well (sometimes we all wake up at the exact same time - if I sleep in her room I am restless all night). Sagging helps everyone sleep better and my daughter is much more settled in her overall nature.
You can buy white sage smudging sticks at most health food stores.
My son, when he was 3, was playing in the lounge room and started to stare at the hallway. Without saying anything he got up and walked to the hallway then started having a conversation with someone only he could see. He took their hand (that's what it looked like to me) and led them down to his room to show them around still chatting away. Stopping at his door he looked very sad and turned to me and told me "they all gone now". I was well freaked out but since he was happy and not scared I guessed it was nothing to worry about. Hasn't happened again and still don't know what it was. He doesn't remember it.
My child wouldn't sleep well in her bed. Always coming in, scared and restless when asleep. One night bunked in her single with her. Felt something behind me, thought it was hubby waking me to go to bed. Nope something else. Dunno what but it wasn't something nice. We turned that room into storage and she slept well. Only issue was it was the other bathroom/ ensuite so had to still use it and it scared her going past it. Even though she didn't know what Id seen. So yes think they can.
