TTC & quitting smoking

Hey IMs I am currently TTC and I already have a 14 months old son. My question is in regard to quitting smoking. I know it is unhealthy and I am trying hard to cut down at this point but I am an extremely avid smoker... I smoke a pack a day. I was wanting some tips for what has worked for you in the past? What are some ideas? I find it hard as well because my partner is a smoker too and everytime I start getting somewhere seeing him smoke triggers me again. I am not looking for criticism. I know how smoking can effect an unborn baby and that's why I am trying to do something about it before I get pregnant ?

Thanks

I was a 40pk a day smoker, for 18yrs, I smoked throughout my 3 pregnancies (not proud of it) my babies were fine, but I actually thought I couldn't give up. I had tried everything ?

I gave up last year, I took Champix for 10days, then just stopped smoking. It wasn't easy, a few times I got a smoke out of the packet and went outside, threw it as far and as hard as I could, and went back inside. I wasn't letting those stupid, expensive little buggers defeat me any longer. Now I wonder why I waited so long to be stubborn and just do it. My whole life has changed dramatically since quitting, I'm more positive and passionate about life, a better mum to my kids and I have more spare cash! We have been saving our "smoke money" and almost have enough for a block of acreage, in less than a year! that's HUGE!! And we could have smoked it! Be strong, the hard work and pain of quitting is NOTHING in the grand scheme of life. Good luck!! (By the way, my husband was so impressed with me giving up, that he gave up cold turkey 3months later)
