Is sleeping even possible in the 3rd trimester?

Is sleeping even possible in the 3rd trimester?

Hi IMs,

I'm currently just past 35 weeks pregnant with my first, and these last few weeks I have not been able to sleep. I get the most painful aches in my hips and groin at night, no matter what position I try.
It's really frustrating as I'm still working full time, and all anyone ever tells me is to 'get the sleep in now while u can!'
Well, I physically can't!
The only thing that makes it stop is if I get up and walk around for a bit, but it comes back once I've been laying down for a while.
Any tips on what can help relieve the pain?

What position are you sleeping in? Do you have a pregnancy pillow and/where are your pillows positioned?

Yeah I do I have a pillow that goes in between my legs and supports my tummy, it's comfortable at first but it feels like being in the same position is what triggers the aching and wakes me up. Some have suggested sleeping on my. Ack with legs elevated, but not an option for me as I can't breathe on my back.

I used to sleep with about 10 pillows propping my body up in different positions. Work really wasn't possible for me at this stage of pregnancy. The women in our family are teeny tiny 5ft and under and there is just nowhere for a baby to go!
My sister had it worse than me because she has an extremely narrow pelvis so the baby can't go down, only up under the rib cage, she has no choice but to have c-sections. The pain for her is debilitating. Even breathing was a challenge.
It's important to tell your doctor if you have pain. Yes it can be just one of those things but sometimes there are things that can help.
I found getting in the pool made a huge difference.
Make sure you speak to your doctor about your pain. Yes it can be normal for some people but it isn't always normal.

It's possible but not comfortable lol love how everyone says to sleep while you can.
Only thing I found helped was sleeping on side with pillows. One between legs and another under belly

Yes get sleep while you can. See if you can finish up work and doze through the day. Look after yourself we werent made to work full time while carrying babies.

I slept sitting bolt upright on the couch for the last six weeks of my pregnancy! I couldn't breathe in any other position. It sucks, doesn't it

I used to find sleeping on the floor the most comfortable for me in late pregnancy. A bed just wasn't firm enough for me
