Loose skin

Hi mummies, just wondering if anyone has some good tips that actually work for tightening up loose skin on the tummy? I know it takes time to go back to fairly normal but is there anything I can do to help it? I had a very large baby 9 weeks ago via c section and I'm tiny and doc says my muscles are back to normal and tight but got this really loose jelly like skin now. Suck in undies can only help so much and are very uncomfortable. Lol. Help!!

Not much can be done for loose skin. That's why people who were once obese and lost a lot of weight end up having surgery to have the skin removed. I'm very short and have a fold of empty skin, so does my mum and sisters from having babies. Some people accept it as part of having children others get surgery. For surgery to work you'd need to be done having kids. I think women need to be more open about the changes that occur to the body after babies, we see these pictures of mums who snap back into place but for a large amount of women that is totally unrealistic.

How much loose skin are we talking about here? I was also told that nothing could be done but I worked really hard to loose a couple kilos and focused on ab exercises, mainly planking. I also wear spanks and tight under wear. It took me a good 6-8 months but I swear by it. However this really depends on how much extra weight your carrying/how much weight you gained than lost and in what period of time and how much loose skin you have. I think if you have a very large amount like a good big handful then maybe this won't work for you and you would need to seek alternative treatments. You can have surgery to remove excess skin but it leaves a scar (plus if you've already just had a C section I don't know if that would be a good idea). I have heard of laser treatments but don't know what the success rate is. Anyway good luck! It's not the end of the world and can be easily hidden by undies...atleast you don't have it hanging off your arms and neck like those biggest loser contestants!

It's the section that makes the extra skin more noticeable I've had 3 sections and no matter what I do the skin is still their. The only way I have been told to fix it is a tummy tuck, so start saving :)

It's not a massive amount but the c section scar does make it look worse but I think the feeling of it is what's getting me. I except I'm never going to look how I did and I think they should stop covering it up in mags and stuff. It's getting better than what it was tho and I wear spanks and cover it up. I was 53kg before I fell pregnant and by the end weighed 74 as soon as I had him I lost 14 kg littrally just from having him and now weigh 58kg. So iv lost 2 in 9 weeks since I had him. I was all belly when I was pregnant at 38 weeks I measured at 40 weeks and had massive baby. I will try the exercise. :) just want it to improve a lil bit more than how it is so I can feel more comfortable in my own skin and fit into clothes better as pants are uncomfy. Proud to know I'm like this from having a beautiful baby boy tho. :) thanks guys. Any tips on stretch mark cream or are they all bollix? Don't care what they look like cause no one sees then but they get itchy. Tried moisturiser's and they haven't worked.
