Tips on Going Back to Work

It would appear that I have a full-time job after being a stay at home mum for 4 years. However, I have been working from home as well, as we have 15 rental properties. My son has been in family day care 3 days a week. My husband works FIFO. Its not that I have to go to work, I'm choosing to go to work, as I need to be able to function outside of the family unit and also our family business and interact with other people. I'm also 45 this year, so I don't want to miss the boat in entering back into the workforce. My husband doesn't want me to go back to work, but I do miss it. I also miss my profession. Any tips in the transition back to work? I'm ok with leaving my child in childcare, as I have slowly introduced him over the years. I'm probably more so worried about passing probationery period of 3 months, if my child is constantly sick and I have to take days off. We have no family or friends where we live. Its a Government department. And also the fact that everything I use to do, won't get done (which we all know as mothers it doesn't). So I'm not after people telling me, not to worry about it, I'm after tips, hints and tricks that you have done in your back to work as a mother. I'm use to working before married life and being a mother!

Jee i have no idea why you would choose to work full time. Work, yes. Full time, nope. My tip is spend money to keep life rolling along while youre busy, or itll be not nice at all. Buy lunches, buy dinner,(it saves the dishwashing and cleanup time more than anything) grab takeaway, pay for your yard, laundry, cleaner, whatever it is thats not getting done. Cook simple and cheap, like instant macaroni cheese. Value your home time, because theres not much of it once you get in the door, prepare for the next day and have dinner its time to put kids in bed.

Cleaner, spend your free time with your family instead of scrubbing showers, ovens and floors. I/we do all basic tidying and cleaning up ourselves as we go and out source the bigger tasks.
