Opinion on what husband said (not for Facebook)

"We're living with a bunch of ice addicts...because that's what they'll grow up to be because they're undisciplined"

We have 3 children, 13, 9 and 5, and this came after our 5yo was being silly at dinner time and not eating so dh sort of yelled in his face and I told him not to.
Our kids certainly push our buttons sometimes but I think their behaviour is very very normal for their age.

Without really knowing the full backstory it is hard to judge.

That is a very uncalled for comment and I would be supper peeved. If your children's behaviour is causing upset then maybe you and him need to figure out a plan to discipline them and get them behaving in a way he sees fit?

Sounds like an over reaction on his part

Yeah thats not ok. Talk to him about being the adult. Means not speaking like that, and speaking to you together about parenting. It doesnt just happen you need to talk to be on the same page, and actually parent instead of complaining about them in front of them.

Depends if it happens a lot, this is the imperfect mum and we have all been pushed at some point by our kids and said/did something we shouldn't. If it's not a common occurrence, I would cut him some slack. Maybe show him that video Kirsty did about apologising to your kids lol

I think the comment was inappropriate based on the information you have given but kids do need discipline...dinner time is eating time, not playing or being silly time.

What the...
I don't think any child's behaviour (whether it's the naughtiest kid on the planet) or has behavioural problems, means it's going to grow up an ice addict, hahahahaha that statement is actually kind of funny..

I think he was just being irrational. Obviously doesn't really mean it because I mean... how does he know his kids are going to get addicted to ANYTHING in their adult life?
