When to tell people the good news!

My partner and I just found out we are pregnant! We have been trying for years, it's classified as a high risk pregnancy due to my age and my history (I have an older child with a disability from a previous relationship) so we are getting all of the test to make sure this one is healthy. The chances of there being something wrong are slim, it's more of a precaution.
We have decided if theres any abnormalities we will abort. My partner doesn't want to tell anyone until we know it's all OK, whereas I want to tell people! What would you do?

When you are both comfortable. If he isn't comfortable then I wouldn't share yet.
He doesn't want to tell because he knows he will be devestated if you need to abort. So he is protecting himself emotionally.

This amazing news. Congrats!

I guess this is something you both really need to talk about together and come to an agreement.

If it was me personally, I wouldn't tell many people until everything was okay because I would be afraid of judgement if I ended up aborting. I'm guessing though, you don't give two ****'s about people's opinions which is awesome and I admire that but it sounds like your partner might worry what people will think? So maybe that's something to address with him?

Good luck and I hope for a happy healthy pregnancy and Bub

I only told people who were very close to us such as limited family and friends and then announced at 13 weeks after the Nuchal Scan (and Harmony).

Personally, if you have already agreed to abort for abnormalities, I wouldn't share the news as each person views abortion so different and may not offer you the support you would expect.

Congratulations and wishing you the best of luck!!!

I agree with your partner, I wouldn't tell any one until the all clear. If something bad happens, you can still tell your close family, so they can support you through it. Good luck, I hope everything goes well.
