Toddler sleep

Anyone done night weening similar successfully? So I'll try n make it short miss 14 month slept perfect all night till 7 mnth then got sick for three weeks and so was feeding all night when she got well that's what she wanted from then on ,(all night boob ) I tried cry it out when I was so over it but wasn't going to work with this kid , cut to a month ago she was ready to just be settled by patting or rubbing if she wakes, once or twice she will sleep to 6am or 5 and as my own rule i sorta said no feeding before 5 if she wakes after 5 she can (it started with 3 o clock limit) the improvement is coming but very slowly which I expected , I'm happy to feed till she is two but just don't want her waking at night cos she is just needing boob to nod back off....
I guess my question is has anyone had a similar weening process and did it still work sharing a bed? Will she eventually stop waking to be patted??? :/ I'm just making it up as I go as none of the sleep books helped us I hope this made sense
