Posting because I feel I may be giving myself false hope. Yesterday I had a dating scan (trans vaginal) which should place me around 8weeks pregnant. Unfortunately there was no heartbeat but there was a fetal pole measing around 7.5 weeks. Devistated I had a blood test and HCG came in at 71,000. I will have another scan next week.
Has anyone experienced this and gone on to had a successful pregnancy or did it result in a MC? I think I need to hear both so I can prepare myself either way.
I have been through similar 3 years ago (although smaller feral pole) and ended up needing D&C.

Massive hugs, fingers crossed for you.
By 7.5 weeks they generally should find a heartbeat (really should be visible at around 5 onwards) but EVERY pregnancy is different and the baby may just be a little slower in developing or hiding away. On my due date page I've seen it go both ways, just be sure if they recommend a D&C that it's 100% that there is no development. I would just get a scan a day before they do the procedure if it comes to that.

Sending hugs, that sounds hard not knowing. I haven't had this situation but have had some miscarriages before and what helped me was thinking whether this pregnancy is to become a baby or not is its choice. If it should be, it will be, if not, that could be for some good reason, like it might not be growing properly. Nature is strong and protective like that often. We also never know what good luck or bad luck is, just stay true to yourself, get the support you need, and go gently into each day. Take care.
