Suburb reviews; Nth Brisbane/Caboolture/Sunshine Coast

Hi all!
Hubby and I have been discussing moving to North Brisbane/Caboolture/Sunshine Coast areas to get a fresh start and have more work opportunities for both of us, but as we've only ever "driven past", we don't have much to go on for a nice and decent area to live. I've joined a few Facebook pages for the areas and keep an eye on the news etc; so far there just seems to be a lot of crime and out of control teens, which understandably makes me nervous for our young family but don't want to give up on it just yet.
Can anyone who lives there or surrounding areas give some reviews on the nice areas where we won't be putting ourselves and kids into the middle of crimeville; I've googled suburb reviews but they're not recent so wanting something more up to date.

Its a really great place for families. Lots going on, lots of amenities and groups, sports and schools. Its full of fanilies that have moved here and happily settled and the general consensus is wouldnt be anywhere else.
Beautiful climate, so close to the city and also day trips and weekend adventures everywhere from sunshine coast down to byron. The teen crime thing is at forefront right now because of a social media crimewatch page going on a crusade and making it big. There are plenty of really safe family friendly areas, if you come for a visit you'll get a feel.

Where are you moving from? I live on the northern end of the Sunny Coast (Peregian Beach) and we see very little crime. Far more crime in capital cities and indigenous areas then up here. We moved from Northern NSW 6 years ago and love it here. However, unemployment is high. If you work in health you might get lucky with the new hospital opening later this month but there isn't much else around, unless of course you know people. My hubby found a job within a few months and is still in the same job but I haven't been able to find anything. But in saying that unemployment is high in lots of areas at the moment. The Sunny Coast is a fantastic place, with lots to see and do and the weather is awesome. Finding a rental can be tough depending on what time of year you move here and house prices are ok, but it depends on where you live. There are great schools across all areas of the coast, public & private.

I live in caboolture and it's not a very nice area. High crime rates, low employment rates.
If you're looking to move to northern Brisbane. Northlakes/narangba/burpengary would be better options.

Northlakes is expanding and lots of job opportunity.
