I have posted a few times about my son and having a lump. Well today I picked him up from school and he was in tears cause it was hurting so much. He than told me he won't do a poo as it hurts his lump. We just went to his doctor who wants to put him on antibiotics to try and help with the pain. My mum has said to go straight to the hospital.

I over reacting or should I take him. I'm worried about wasting their time he is ok now on my lap now with a warm face washer on the lump.

How many times have you seen a dr? Have they actually looked? Do you knoe what it is and have a plan for treatment? If no, then I would go back to dr or different one. If unsure, call 13health and they will tell you info and if best to go to hospital or what.
I'm the poster..this has gone on for 4months with two doctors ultrasound and a referral to the hospital as they aren't sure if it is a cyst or something for else.
I would go er then, just be ready for a wait. You cant send him to school tomorrow like this, poor lad hope you get it sorted
For me this depends on when the hospital appointment is.
If it's this week, don't bother going to ER.
If it isn't for awhile then I'd go, be prepared that they might not do anything but if they aren't busy they might.
No you aren't overreacting! You're being a typical mother who is worried about her son :)
How did you go? I'd recommend keeping him home from school today and having a quiet day. I have had a cyst on my bum but it was on my crack as such - it can be formed by ingrown hairs or not drying yourself properly and unfortunately there isn't much except antibiotics to help it along (but once you get one they can return). It was very painful so I feel for him!! If he has an actual lump I would be concerned that it's become infected and needs treatment sooner rather than later. I'd pop in and see what they can do but I know they don't tend to prioritise cysts in that area but if you say he is blocked up from holding in his poo and he is young they should push you along :)
You have a referral go to that appointment. If it's been going on for months then it's not an Emergency and not what E.R is for.
In E.R you will be seen by an emergency Dr that will prob refer you to the same clinic you already have a referral for
Things can change during the time waiting for a referral. I would say what happened yesterday changes the status of the situation
The doctor has told us to go er as the pain is increasing and the referral hasn't been reviewed yet so we don't have an appointment. Thank you for advice I was feeling a little silly about wasting their time but seeing my son in pain we have headed their now and
Just waiting.
Any update?
