Being forgetful or something else?

Being forgetful or something else?

My husband is badgering me to go and get myself checked out and I'm trying to argue that memory lapses etc are just part of life. Has anyone else been in this boat?

As a bit of a back story, I suffer from migraines which were recently (last 5-6yrs) diagnosed as a form of epilepsy. Hubby has been on my case that a) my hearing has decreased and b) I forget conversations and locations. Like yesterday I was driving us out for dinner and told him a story about a car accident I witnessed earlier in the day. He just stared at me and said "babe, you've told me this twice today already". I have NO recollection of me telling him this. At all. He actually went on and elaborated a bit more on what I was telling him because apparently the first time around, I gave him a lot more detail!!

Im saying I'm just forgetful, he's saying that something is off. I really don't have time for doctors...so anyone else is like me?

You REALLY need to go to the doctor. It's normal to retell stories but not on the same day and not so often.
This is more than normal memory lapses.
With your medical history it's really important to get this checked. My son has memory loss after a seizure and seizures and seizure types can change over time. For example my son only had tonic clonic (grand mal) seizures since he was 12 but now he has absentee seizures.
It's quite possible you are having mini seizures that you aren't even aware of!

Doctor!
It can be something minor, trivial such as lack of sleep, but it can be something not so small.
Go, get it checked out, go to the follow up appointments. Make time now, as in the future you may not have time at all.

Are you scared of what the answer might be? I think I would be, if it was me. However, this sounds like more than run of the mill forgetfulness, and I would be encouraging you to the doctor too, if I was your husband. Please go.
