My 9 year old daughter is having dental surgery at the end of this month to have a few baby teeth pulled and some fillings. Im nervious. Shes a very sensitive child we tried in the chair 2 times but she flipped out . What should i expect pain wise? Is it as painfull as having adult teeth removed? She dose not do well with any sort of pain.god im freaking out about having her put under. Her adult teeth are double the size of her baby teeth and their is just no room for them to fit she has a very small jaw so they are starting to fold over each other . We are a hour from the hospital should i stay the night in the town where we are getting it done or drive the hour home? Anyone have any advice??

It's more the thought of the removal not the pain itself!
When they put my autistic son under and I'm told it's quite typical procedure with all children to do it this way is....
I went into the operating room with him and they gassed him until he was out, then they put the drip in etc and I left. So he really knew nothing about what was happening other than a mask and it was all of seconds the entire process.
Soon as he was in recovery (still out) I was taken into recovery and he was given pain meds while out.
Just give pain killers at the required times (don't wait for pain to start).
It's more of a problem with eating. So make sure you have some favourite foods on hand like milkshakes, ice cream, jelly etc at home.
I did this with my you gest when he was 18mths old he fell and chipped two teeth when he was learning to walk. I had to go with him when they put him under as he wouldnt let me go. Once he was asleep he was fine. Was totally out of it when he woke up but pain wise he was fine the premed they give has a pain relief in it.
