Big baby?? So we just had our 29 week visit to our OBGYN and he said our baby is measuring on the bigger side - that baby is a little fatty at 1.5kg. He showed us the bell curve for weight and baby is just a bit above average.
I'm terrified enough at the thought of pushing out any sized baby never mind a fatty ?! Anyone else been told this and had a smaller baby or have any advice to slim down this fatty inside me! Do I need to worry that I'll be torn from front to back cause baby is measuring big?
(I know measurements are just estimates but this has me worried as it's our first)!
Thanks mummas!

Don't worry too much. They really are just estimates. I had a big baby (85th percentile for weight, 97th for height and head circumference) and didn't tear at all. I wouldn't try anything to "slim down" your baby, so long as you are eating healthily.
Dont worry. They really need to stop saying this how could they not know how terrifying it is to us mums. Please do some reading or watching about hypnobirthing. Youre body can do this.
My sister was huge, was mums easiest delivery. I was small and needed lots and lots of help to come into the world!
They said my son was going to be big, he was smallish lol
At 38 weeks with my 3rd she was measuring at 5 kg.
They were pretty close she was born weighing a bit over 4.5 kg (10 lbs). I only laboured for an hour and luckily didn't even need stitches!
You'll be fine, they can only estimate size anyway, a friend of mine recently was told her baby was very small and bellow average. Her baby was born a healthy 7lb!
You should be happy the baby is thriving. Slightly above normal? Are you and your husband slightly above average in height? Cause obviously if so you would have a bigger baby.
I've had three over 4kg and they came out just fine.
My friend on the other hand had stitches and her Bub was only 2.6kg
My first baby was 10 pounds easy labour no tearing. Second baby was 7 pounds I had to be cut and had a shocking labour.
