Hi ?
My husband and I have been discussing starting a family in the new year! We are only in our early 20s but are financially stable, travelled, married and have fantastic family and are very excited, we have been researching however there isn't a great deal of info for pre pregnancy/pregnancy info for dads. My husband is nervous about what to expect and would like more information, does anyone have recommendations on books or dvds or advice that you wish you were given pre children? Thankyou

What to expect when you are expecting!
Basically anything you read he should read too.
Unfortunately not a lot geared directly towards dad, but some good funny Facebook pages to follow are Life of Dad, and my friend Stay at Home Bloke. I particularly like SAHB because he is brutally honest about everything, he's a friend of mine, and looks rough as guts.
Make sure you both attend prenatal classer. They help both parents with anything they want or need to know. Good luck
I find that there is an awful lot of literature geared towards pregnancy and the birth and then - not much! I felt really prepared all the way through until I had my baby in my arms lol. I would suggest info on breastfeeding, recognising different cries, SIDS guidelines, books on parenting young children. The birth is usually the easy part :P
How exciting! Hubby and I are in our early 20s and have a 4 week old daughter.
Definitely go to the antenatal classes, they were super helpful for my husband. My husband's not much of a reader, so didn't read any books, but I read a few and passed info onto him. I also sent him short links on Facebook which he would read. I loved reading books by Pinky McKay.
My husband and I where early 20's when we had our first in the exact same situation you where in. It's an amazing time to come for you both. What to expect when expecting is a great book for both mum and dad. I personally never went to antenatal classes but only because my closest class was 3 hours away as I was in a remote area with my first.
