Superannuation, does anyone know about having access to it for help with a house deposit?
I had seen it on the news a while ago but can't seem to find any information about it.
My fiancé and I would love to purchase a house in Queensland (from Sydney) to have a better life for our family.
But with paying rent and everyday bills this will set us back a few years.
Has anyone been able to access theirs? What step would need to be taken? Who do I contact?
We did ask our superannuation company but they were not much help.

I've never heard of using it for a deposit.
You can use your super to buy and investment property but you can't live in it.
It's very strictly regulated and involves you setting up your own super fund and there is a lot of conditions and rules around this
It can't be done. There was talk about it in the media a few months back but the government said it will never happen.
It's not a thing at the moment. It's something the govt were throwing out there as a possibility, but as yet no legislation has been put to parliament or passed.
