Age gap between kids

Age gap between kids

I have a 3 year old son both myself and my partner had decided when he was born that we wanted to wait till he was in school before thinking of having trying for baby number two due to money and my mental health(I have bipolar and struggled with pnd) so it won't be till 2018 that we might start thinking about it but I'm starting to reconsider I'd like to start trying next year, we are in a good place both money wise and I'm well I also have a awesome support system in place witch I didn't really have last time ( I had my family but that was it but I now have doctors and such) as it is our son isn't sleeping through the night yet(not that I sleep through the night ether way) and we have just started toilet training.
How do I explain this to my partner?
What age gap do you have between your kids?
Did a you find a larger gap earlier?

Just say "I'm thinking let's have a baby next year"

I don't think you should be worried about how to say something to him... it should just be "hey this is what I want. What do you reckon?".

I think you explained it pretty well, the way you wrote it. Just say that. The rest is a negotiation he may or may not agree but sounds to me like as good a time as any to start trying.

I have a big age gap and I thought it would be easy but it's actually really difficult! It was very hard to take my kids places they could both enjoy as everywhere was too babyish for my oldest or too grown up for my youngest. They couldn't really play together as my oldest found my youngest boring and they're not interested in the same things. Doing school runs with a baby is not fun! At school events I usually had to sit up the back in case my youngest started crying (which she did a lot) and I never got to get a good view of my oldest.
I personally would not recommend such a big age gap just from my experience but I suppose there are pros and cons to both.
