Hi. Sorry this is long. My 4 year old son talks about killing people and dying all the time. This is not totally knew but seems to be escalating. When it first started it was more about dying either him or family or close friends. Which we weren't too surprised about as we have had a lot of people close to us die recently. One of the first thing that was worrying was when he started talking about his imaginary friend who used to be a girl but she got stabbed and died and now she is his imaginary friend. More recently it has been things like ' mum if dad chopped (big brother) up and we ate him then when people asked where he was I would have to say um he got chopped up' or he saw 2 strangers on a computer at the local neighbourhood house and told me they were bad people because they were looking up how to kill people. We don't watch movies or shows like this. The TV is mostly on kids channel. We don't talk like this and as far as I am aware neither does anyone else he is around. So I really don't know where it is coming from or how to deal with it. Has anyone had any experience with this or got any advice on what to do. Thanks in advance.

Does he have access to a large amount of kids such as school or day care ?? I only ask as last yr when my daughter was in pre primary one of the littl boys came to school talking about "zombies" it went through the whole class and then the whole year level with all these kids talking about Zombies. And some such as my daughter having bad dreams about zombies turned out one of the boys in the class big brother kindly let him watch a play station game which he came to school and told everyone about. I was so surprised at how quickly it went through the year level.
No he was in daycare when it started but it was family daycare so only a couple of kids and I spoke to the carer and she said that none of the kids spoke like that. And he is in kinder now but the teachers say they have not heard anything. When I spoke to the teacher she was horrified. Which has just add to my concern.
I was like this when I was a kid and I had a weird interest in death, the bazaar, post apocalypse senarios time travel and aliens.
when I was about 7 I had to write a biography about myself, I wrote that I was recently released from prison for murdering 3 people :0 and then when I was 10 I was fascinated by euthanasia and wrote a project all about Dr death!
it could just be a crazy imagination and may lead to a creative outlet or career maybe.....
I became a scriptwriter and my projects have a dark tone to them.
Does he have other topics he is fascinated about too?
My son had an experience similar, PLEASE begin by having a trusted psychic/medium visit your home or take him to them - we had little boys (brothers) who had drowned in a dam nearby years and years ago who couldn't cross over to the light - they weren't telling my son things such as this little girl is but in any case they need to move on. i really feel for you and your little boy. and of course as others have suggested, follow up with your trusted gp or health nurse. good luck and best wishes x
