My 1 year old DD has figured out how to get out of the arm straps in her car seat. I have them as tight as they will go and at the correct shoulder height but she still manages to get out! She pushes herself right to one side, drops her shoulder back and slips her arm right out and the next is a breeze. She knows it's very naughty but continues to do it. Is there something I can buy to help prevent this?

Most baby shops will sell a harness like piece that can go between the straps across the chest so they can't get out
My son started doing the same thing about the same age. I found that telling him off didn't really do much, so I switched to saying 'we need the straps on for safety, please put your arms back in' in a calm but firm voice. It didn't take long for him to stop pulling his arms out. He is now 3.5 and remembers this. One day I had started reversing out of the garage without buckling him in and he immediately said 'Mummy, strap me in' :)
Go and buy a Houdini strap, they attach across the chest from each arm strap it was the only thing that would hold my son in his seat
