Hi, my son recently had a hair cut to just below his ears. His hair was down to his shoulders before this. But then my sister sends me photos of boy styles saying that his current hair cut is like a girls. He asked to have it long enough to cover his ears but even though I mentioned it to a friend she also turned around and said "is long hair what he wants"... seriously? Like I'm doing some evil deed keeping it long. That it's so terrible for a boy to have long hair. I'm like kinda over it that people think boys should have short hair. I honestly believe my friend thought my son would walk out with short hair... just kinda a rant no real questions

Stick to your guns, long hair is actually quite trendy.
My brother always had long hair! More because he was always too lazy and hated having his hair cut! But seriously, his hair was probably almost down to his shoulders until he was about 22!! Who cares what others think, if that's what your son wants then too bloody bad!
My 21yr old brother has hair longer then mine! It's past his shoulder and still going. If that's what your son wants go with it ??
There's no real stereotypical boys and girls hair anymore. I have short hair, so short you can't run your fingers through it (got sick of helmet hair after 10 hours in a hard hat every day), my partner is growing his out again (most likely a return to his beloved mullets). Ear length is hardly considered long...
I love long hair on boys it's so cute! I will be letting my sons hair grow out too
One of my sons friends had really long hair , combined with fine features I had lots of adults ask me if he was a boy or a girl. This kid was 10 and being bullied by other kids including kindergarten being called a girl / shoved in girls toilets & too afraid to tell his mother. I asked him if he would like his hair cut shorter to he responded " short hair doesn't suit me" the exact words I had over heard his mother telling him constantly. The kid had the same haircut as his mother & sister and no male role model to look up to. J really got the impression from the child that he liked his hair long for his mothers apprival to the point he wouldn't tell her about the bullying as not to hurt her feelings. If it is genuinly what the child wants I see no issues but if it's to please a parent I think it's another story
I've seen a lot of posts on this around. I don't know why people are so offended. My son (6) had long hair till a little while ago and my parents and siblings would always say get him a haircut etc I didn't pay any attention to it and just decided to cut it when we both wanted too. Not sure what the big deal is its just hair and well usually boys have short hair and girls long so that what most people see as attractive. It doesn't mean you and your son have to feel that way.
