Bitchy mums

Why are mums so bitchy?
I live in a small country town. My kids attend the local school, and I'm on the school council and the p&c.
One of the other mums at school tells all the new parents at school that I stole her husband, and that's not 100% true.
Her former husband and I ARE together (we don't live together as we're waiting till we are married), but he had left her and I had left my husband for domestic violence before we got together.
She plays the victim all the time and makes me out to be a big bitch.
When the other mums on the p&c and in the school community go out to the local pub for dinner, I am never invited, she always is, and I only find out once they've been and had a good time.
How can I address this issue with others?

Make a point to talk to the other women and set it straight. They probably believe her side of the story because it's all they have heard. I think if you directly addressed the issue with a couple of the other women they might realise how cruel and unfair it is on you. Plus I would honestly have a talk to this woman. Sometimes a friendly confrontation is the only way to get through to people.

Good luck :)

Talk to her, these things in some circumstances are not black and white and others perceptions of a situation can be quite different. Not saying in your circumstances, but I have heard the whole we didn't get together until everyone split, but they were good friends prior or got together 5 minutes after the split, leaving the other spouse believing something was going on. She is obviously hurting (no excuse for her poor form), so let her tell you what she thinks, acknowledge her pain and assure her of whatever you need to i.e. you weren't having an affair and remember behind anger, there is usually pain and hurt.

Some women never grow up. Have a pack of them trying to ruin my life ATM. It's ridiculous how some women carry on.
