So 4 weeks ago I had an abortion (was a medical reason not my choice) and I was wondering for the ladies who have had one how long did it take to get your period after? I know it can take up to 12 weeks but I would like to hear other people's experiences. Also is there any support groups I could join? I'm really struggling with it even though there was a medical reason behind it, (If I carried on with my pregnancy I would of died and same with the baby) thank you xx

I bled heavy for 2 weeks after an abortion x i struggled for 3 years about the procedure until getting put on depression tablets and seeing a councillor. X
I had a medical abortion 4 months ago. I Regret it everyday, i bleed for a week after it. And It took 3 months for my period to return. Big hugs xx
I had one when I was heaps younger, the thought never goes away. I had mine because I wasn't ready and I still know I wasn't but it still plays on my mind. I cannot imagine what you are going through, but I'm giving you big hugs.
As far as the period, I really don't remember so to me it was probably quite normal.
2 years ago I had to have a D&C because of a missed misscarriage, I bled for s couple of days then got my period 2 weeks later, really heavy.
last year I had an ectopic, again only bled for a few days (started about 3 days after the surgery) then got it again 9 days later.

I've had two abortions, both times I bled for about 2 weeks and then got my period 5 weeks after the procedure as per my usual cycle. It was the same after I had all of my children.
Please try not to beat yourself up about the termination. You had perfectly valid reasons for doing it. Speak to your doctor and see if they can put you onto a support group.
I had a termination (the type where you take the pills, not a d&c) and only bled for 5 days after, then my period was back a month later. That was about 7 years ago, and I'm only really coming to terms with it now. I didn't get counseling but I wish I had. Good luck mama, I hope you have lots of support around you.
