Sorry if this is a long one. My 4 year old daughter started prep this year and was getting bullied by one of the boys in her class quite early on. (Hitting, kicking and name calling) the school have dealt with it very well and the bullying has now stopped. The problem is now that my daughter has become an angry violent little girl ever since. She punches her 2 year old brother and although she knows it is the wrong thing to do, will yell and scream when getting in trouble. She is so argumentative and speaks to me with absolutely no respect. She says she is sick of being told what to do and has on occasion told me she doesn't love me anymore. We don't smack, we use time out and take away privileges. I have tried calmly talking to her, trying to make her understand that her brother is feeling like she did while being bullied at school. I try to use simple terms so she understands what i am saying to her, but I am starting to wonder if she does understand what I am saying to her. Unfortunately nothing seems to be working to curb this behaviour. It has come to a point now where everything is an argument, simple things like asking her to put her shoes on are now an uphill battle. She assures me the problems at school have stopped and her teacher has been working closely with her checking every day to make sure nothing has happened. Has anyone else dealt with this? I just want her to be happy and I dont want her brother to start doing the same.
