First time posting here but wondering if anyone has any info that could help me.☺️
I'm trying to find out about removing a name from my sons birth certificate, his father knew I was pregnant but didn't want anything to do with it. He did stick around til my son was about 2 weeks old and that was it. He's had a bad addiction to drugs that I didn't want myself or my son to be anywhere near and he was fine with that as he had already knocked two other females up in the 9months I was pregnant. Long story short he got deported back to his country to his parents (India) this was 9 years ago, 10 years in November. We have no communication what so ever and he hasn't seen my son or paid any support ever. I'm fine with it, but when my son was born I did put his name down on the birth certificate, obviously not knowing how it was all going to turn out. But I'm trying to find out if it's going to be possible to get his name removed from it. I'm already jumping through hoops just to try and get my sons passport with one signature. Again, being no communication in nearly 10 years etc.

You won't be able to remove his name unless you can prove he isn't the father, which would require a DNA test.
Ah bummer ?Unfortunately he is the "sperm donator" father is being a bit nice considering lol
Get some legal advice ... Call up a mediation centre in your area and usually they have someone you can speak to there. In some circumstances they can give you an exemption from attending mediation and you can go to court and apply for sole parental rights.
If they contact him and he decides he suddenly wants to be in your sons life then is that something you're prepared to deal with?
I researched this myself not long ago and backed out because I want my ex to stay disappeared ... If your ex is likely to not care and agree to relinquish his rights then go for it!
