DNA testing

Hi IM'S
I was just wondering how to go about getting a dna test done ? Long story short my son's ex who is pregnant & due in mid September is saying that the baby is his. (I now what everyone is thinking) now if the baby is his he's prepared to support it & mum but he's not sure it is his as she had at least 2 other partners around the same time.. he lives in the NT.

The best thing I did when I found out I was pregnant to an ex was get some legal advice. Your son should get legal advice. There are loads of free services that can give him the facts he needs to get him through this time. This will also help him In understanding his rights in co-parenting, finances and determining paternity.
He will also found it helpful to look at the child support agency website, it's a wealth of information.
DNA tests are done after the baby is born. It's a simple cheek swab of baby and 'dad'. A lot will depend on wether the mum is being co-operative or changes her mind etc, or plays games etc. Which is where legal advice will be helpful (the sooner he gets it, the better), if he is unsure of if he is the dad he should not sign the birth certificate, that can be rectified later after DNA tests and there is another form he can sign later if necessary.
