2 year old thinks bedtime is playtime!

I am after some advice with getting my just turned 2 year old to sleep. He has always been a good sleeper up until a few months ago! It seems now that bedtime is a great chance to play and jump and laugh for hours! His routine has not changed at all and has always been dinner, bath quiet time cuddling on the couch, book then we sing a song as we tuck him in ( still in the cot) he used to fall straight asleep but as soon as he is down now he jumps up and starts jumping and laughing this can go on for hours before he eventually tires out and passes out. He sleeps for about 11 hours at night and has a 1 1/2 to 2 hour nap. His nap is the same (laughs and jumps) and the only time I can now get him to sleep is a quick drive in the car or he will not have it and be exhausted all day. If he doesn't nap it is easier to get him to sleep at night but he is grumpy and so tired all afternoon. Any ideas to teach my son that bed does not equal playtime!

Our boy went through this about the same age, we caved and put a t.v in his room (not saying that is the best idea) but it worked for him, our lil girl is doing it now, but she has decided she will raid the fridge. We are spending more time telling her to go back to bed then sitting calmly. We turn all the lights out and she will goto sleep. She is driving us crazy too (she won't sit and watch TV, she jumps on the bed, pulls all her toys out. We leave the house at 7am, and I dress her while she is still asleep. It's been going on for a couple on months.
