I am a happily married mother of 2 young boys aged 2 and 4 years. My husband and I have been talking about the possibility of having number 3. What are other peoples thoughts about having 3 munchkins and how it works for you?

We have 2 boys aged 4&6 and a 7 month old daughter. The age gap between number 2 and 3 is perfect. The boys adore their sister and are good helpers to me. I haven't found much difference between having 2 and 3 other than sometimes the middle one gets left out because one parent is helping with homework whilst the other is helping with the baby. I just make sure my middle boy gets included a lot, usually with helping me with his baby sister. Having the 3rd being a different sex makes a huge difference I think because the boys are best mates and their bond and circumstance hasn't really changed (they've always shared a room because they like to be together). Had my daughter have been another boy I think the dynamics would have been a lot different. In saying that I'm 1 of 3 girls and the only one that suffered in our house was our dad!!! One thing to be mindful of though that we didn't consider was how to fit 3 car seats in our car as all of them were under 5 at the time and still had the big bulky car seats. Good luck, id have heaps of kids if it didn't have to be pregnant!
