Whooping cough and school

Hi ladies

I don't know if it is a vent or if I need to get it off my chest

My son just turned 6 (last month) and started kindergarten this year back in late May the school sent letters home about a child that attends the school having whooping cough and we should all be careful and monitor our children and get them tested if we have to well in the second last week of school I got my son tested as a precaution even though he wasn't showing many signs of it at all the doctor told me to keep him off school for a week and give him a lot of antibiotics just in case but he doesn't think that my son had it and my son would be right to go back to school for the last week of school I did everything the doctor asked of me and even sent my son back to school for the last week and my partner and I get a phone call this morning to rush my son in to get more antibiotics as his tests have come back and they are positive to whooping cough my partner and i don't have it and the only place my son has been other then home is to school I am so furious at the fact he has whooping cough I send my son to school to learn not to pick up a virus that could kill him i have already had my son in hospital 2 within 3 months of each other (one being a passed down to the first born male of every generation and the second due to a friend having a virtual infection and not telling anyone ) my son has a very low immune system and i can stand him being sick I feel iam at at a loss with it all .

Unfortunately this is life. Your kids will catch bugs, germs and virus from school, kindy, shopping centre's and parks. The parent with the child with whooping cough probably had no idea their child had it until they showed symptoms and then kept the child home from kindy. It is a precaution that kindy will ALWAYS send home a letter or inform all parents of any contagious illnesses that a child might have. I think it's ridiculous to blame the kindy. Its unfortunate your child has caught whooping cough, i hope he makes a speedy recovery.
