My little guys has been hooked on his dummy pretty much since birth. I have just noticed that he has an open bite (front teeth can't come together). I feel awful! We're in day 6 of only letting him have the dummy for sleep times (1 day nap and all night). Can this correct itself naturally? What else can I do? Should I see a dentist?? Is my little guy destined for a lot of dental work in the future??

My friend is a speech pathologist and said the recommendation is to wean completely by 12 months. So I would be trying to wean completely within the next few weeks. We went cold turkey with my 18 month old son and replaced it with a comforter blanket thing. He had forgotten about dummies in 2 days!
