I had a baby last year, I'm a single mum and I'm having some problems down south when it comes to sexual activity. Since giving birth, I've had sex with the father of my child a few times and each time everytime he fingers me I then get an irritation. I either get thrush externally or vaginosis internally and if I don't have sex often, my vagina swells up after it and I have to apply ice to the area straight after. The irritation isually presents with a foul odour until it disappears. I'm ok when I use my vibrator though, there is no irritation after use. I have always been pretty sensitive down there, but not at the point where I'm irritated each time. Pap smear and std check is clear. Not sure what's happening....

Are you breastfeeding? Hormonal changes can cause dryness which can cause irritation. Make sure you use lots of lubrication or a vaginal moisturiser like Replens? Are you sensitive to soaps, frangrances etc? Get partner to wash his hands first with a hypoallergenic wash. Just suggestions, might want to see a gynaecologist.
No not breastfeeding and I use QV wash in the shower. I don't with soap or anything like that down south.
If you are using condoms have you ruled out an allergy to latex?
I've known people to get thrush each time from sex I never asked how they dealt with it though maybe time to ask your doc or have a visit to the gyno.
Not using condoms ?
Make sure hubby has clean hands and privates (wash with qv before hand should be fine) before he goes for it, keep it slippery with lube and take it slow no jack hammering Mr hubby sir lol if then your still getting irritations see a gyno as it could be something more serious good luck I feel for you x
Thank you Danielle ?
It could be because his fingers are giving you small cuts.
I always end up irritated when my husband uses his fingers, because of the calluses or dry skin or whatever.
For me, I end up with several micro cuts that itch like crazy. Scratching makes it worse, and I end up with an icky discharge (which is a vaginas way of fighting off bacteria and preventing an infection).
I get the same annoying 'itch' when sex is a little more rough than normal, or during my periods as my skin gets irritated by pads/tampons.
Try using lubricant to help ease any friction and prevent any scratches.
You should also always double and triple check with a doctor when it comes to a health question like this!
I will definitely be seeing a doctor today :)
He needs to wash his hands. Manky guy!
lol yes my thoughts exactly.... I won't be continuing on as he obviously has no respect for my lady bits what so ever.
