Hi ims. I would love to hear from people who have made the move from Australia to New Zealand. I'm wanting to move my family of 4 (including 2 kids nearly 2 and 4 years old) over there. It's a beautiful country and would love to live there. My husband works in the film industry and I'm wanting to also (work with him). I'd love to just bite the bullet and do it. We wouldn't get any government payments like we do now? (Ftb, parenting payment, childcare rebates) or do they have equivalent that we would be eligible for? We're Australian residents.

Hello! I'm a kiwi, been in Aussie for coming up 5 years and literally as we speak are packing a container to go back! I had all the same questions as you. There is a supplement called working for Families (similar to FTB) and also from what I understand childcare is MUCH more affordable. Also I believe it doesn't matter if you are a Aus citizen in NZ you are still entitled to NZ benefits (unlike here) good luck and sorry I can't be more help, perhaps I'll check back when we've been there a while and let you know!
