I'm just wondering if anyone or their kids have been diagnosed with Central Auditory Processing disorder ? I've been told by a Speach pathologist to go get an auditory processing assessment done on my son and I typed it in and CAPD came up and from reading it , it seems like my son to perfection. So I was just wondering how it all works, what will happen if he doesn't have it? What help you may have got , if things a have improved ...

my son was diagnosed with CAP a couple years ago. They do a bunch of tests with listening to sounds, high and low pitch, and listening to one voice while blocking out another. At the end we were told things like try avoid background noise, talk to him on his left side (the right is the one that doesn't hear as well) and see a educational behaviour therapist (she did another buch of tests and gave his some listening excercises to do) Honestly I don't think it was helpfull in the end. I already knew he had it but was under the impression that we would be told do this and it will fix all. I'm sure other people have had a different experience though.
