Hello IMs.
My husband has decided to have a vasectomy. This is something he and I have discussed at length. I am wanting to know from anyone whos hubbys have had the snip (i know every one is different) but how long it took for your husbands to recover? Was there much discomfort? Did he have it done under general anesthesia or was it just local? How much time did he need off work ect ect ect..

My hubby had it done under local and needed a week off work-major discomfort for the first 2-3 days. They recommended tight undies but he preferred no undies. Also have 2 packets of frozen peas handy (to rotate).
My hubby had it under local and was performed within half an hour! He was tender for a couple of days, but they prescribe them some strong painkillers! Hubby got it done Friday back to work Monday but was cleared for a week by the doctor but there was no need for him to take the whole week! Nothing compared to childbirth! Makes sex a lot more enjoyable without the worry of having to use protection ?
My partner had it done at 'Dr. Snip' - he was only off work for that day back to work the next. Mild discomfort for 2 to 3 days & no issues since!
Hubby had it done under ga. Was doen within 30mins. He was uncomfortable for the first day but after that was fine he was back at work 4 days later.
Mine had it done under local. In and out in 30 minutes.
He only had one day off work with no big issues.
Sex is sooooo much better afterwards ?
Im curious-what makes the sex better?
Is it because the fear of pregnancy is taken away?
I think it's just not having to think about taking the pill everyday or having to wear condoms, it can be more spontaneous!! You know there is no chance of falling pregnant especially if you are at a point of knowing your family is complete! But You have to make sure hubby goes to give a sperm sample after 3 months as you can still fall pregnant within that 3 months!!
