Hey Mums,
Not really a question as such, just looking for other Mums experiences of being induced at 37/38 weeks due to Gestational Diabetes. Did you end up having a natural delivery? If things didn't progress did you have to have a c-section? How was your recovery? Was your baby big?
Trying not to freak myself out here after reading horror stories on the Internet ?

I was induced at 38 weeks twice but not due to gd. Both natural. 7lb babies. Labours brought on by tampon thingy, gel then eventually waters broken. First born 10 hours after waters broken. Second 4 hours later. You will be fine. If you plan on breastfeeding join the Breastfeeders in Australia fb page for advice around expressing colostrum beforehand

I was induced at 38 weeks with my daughter and had a c section with my son at 36w6d because of gd and placenta previa/ placenta accreta (my placenta was covering my cervix and enbedded itself into my uterus). There is nothing to be scared of! My daughter was 2880g and my son 3780g and he was born earlier than her. The doctors make you feel comfortable and of course it dose hurt but the pain is nothing compared to having a healthy beautiful baby in your arms.
There is always horror stories dont believe them!! With my son i was told to sign a form saying they could take my uterus away if there were any complications i also had to discuss with my doctorand partner what was to happen to my child if i lossed to much blood and had to have surgery.
But in the end it wasnt as bad as they made it out to be and i was only in hospital for 2 days and held my baby from the min he came out and have never let him go.
You have a beautiful baby ready to come out and love you completely :) just think of that and you'll be okay
I was induced at 38+5, they manually broke waters and got the contractions going. Miss now 3 heart rate was dropping and they were ready to cut and pull/prep for csection was still happening,
Thankfully I was able to have her naturally.
You will have to stay in hospital so they can check bubs sugar levels for 2 days.
But that's about all
