Hi Sisters
My 4 year old is absolutely petrified of the dark!
It's only recent but he will not go to sleep unless his bedroom & the hallway light are turned on. Even if the hallway light is off but his bedroom light is on he will scream and scream until it's turned on!
Every night when I put him to bed I leave both lights on until he is asleep then turn his bedroom one off leaving the hallway light on but he gets up 5-6 times during the night to turn his bedroom light back on.
He also comes into my room and wakes me up (every hour the last few nights) and all he does is walk back to his room, turn the light on and goes back to sleep.
The lack of sleep is really affecting him during the day, especially at kinder. I'm 23 weeks pregnant, have 2 other children and do it all by myself during the week as my husband's a night shift worker. I'm just absolutely exhausted!
Can anyone offer some advice?
Please Mum's I'm willing to try absolutely anything!

A night light for starters you can get soft ones that are rechargeable so he can cuddle it in bed. Glow in the dark stickers to put on the ceiling.
I was (still am a little ) scared of the dark I use to see shadows on the wall and freak out my imagination would make it 100× worse just a little bit of light helped alot
Definitely get him a lamp or night light and leave it on for now. Most kids grow out of it on there own
You can get little night lights that go into the power point. Or get him a lamp. I had star stickers on the roof. I was petrified of the dark. I'm 22 and I'm still scared of the dark and sleep with the light on not as scared as I was as a kid. But don't wear your self out over it. Keep the light on and let every one get there rest x
Why is he so scared?
We got a childs native American dream catcher, a night light and left a lamp on. Big lights were a no.
That all seems to help. Goodluck
