5 year olds weight

How much does your 5 year old weigh? My daughter weighs 23.4kg. I always thought my DD was perfectly normal and does not look over weight at all, but talking to other mothers on the weekend who have told me there children way around 16kg to 17kg. So shes 5 to 6kg bigger than other children. She's very active we attend kinder, Swimming lessons and dancing we go to the park most weekends. She does eat pretty healthy but I have already decided to try and cut back on the biscuits she eats. Should I be worried for her health?

My daughter was around 18 kilos at age 5. My 16 month is 16 kilos but she was born very big (10lb 8oz)
I wouldn't worry about it. 23 kilos does not sound concerning at all. All kids are different and carry weight differently, it depends on how tall they are too.

Always see a doctor if you are concerned, but I think as long as she is happy healthy active and eating well there's no need to be worried. I was a bit bigger than most at that age but once I got to high school I had a huge growth spurt and was then one of the slimmest. My brother was the same.

My son is three and he weighs only a little less than your daughter. He's certainly doesn't look fat (not rolly doesn't have a big belly) he's just a really solid well built little boy.
Chances are he's going to be heavier than your daughter at age 5.
Perhaps your daughter is very well built also. If her weight isn't detrimental to her health don't stress

How tall is she? You can't compare weights without taking into account her height. Track her weight on a blue book graph, it's a much better way of tracking your child's progress

My son is a little over 3 and he weighs 25kg and im so worried about his weight. We have be seeing doctors and specialists (dietician, endocrinologist and peadetrician) since he 18 months old and they have no explanation for his weight and weight gain. We are now getting DNA and chromosome testing done to try and find an explanation.

If you are worried I would go and see a doctor. There is no harm in asking whether there is a problem and it's better to ask than wait and regret not asking earlier (hence why we have been seeing specialists for over 18 months).

My 5 year old was weighed last night and is 21.5kg and she is perfectly healthy in terms of weight. She isn't pudgy she just has a bit more muscle in her thighs from all the excersize she does. I wouldn't worry about it too much. As long as she is healthy and is fit enough to run around and play she should be ok

My son was about 20/21kg at 5. He's tall for his age and very active. Please try not to worry about your daughters weight or if you do see a Dr or a dietician. You don't want to set your little one up for a lifetime of weight/body issues.

My dd is 3 and 17.5kg and she's not big just solid and tall. If your worried ask a Dr but I don't think she will have a problem given all the activities she attends. Also remember muscle weighs more than fat and she sounds quite active.
