Noise Sensitivity-
Hi IMs. Does anyone else suffer from noise sensitivity. I am feeling quite stressed(and currently sick) atm, and am noticing I am very sensitive to noises. Not sure if it is normal or not. They are noises I would imagine many find annoying, neighbours dog barking, kids screaming, whining, loud sounds. But they really stress me. I have a 4 and 5 yr old boys and a happy marriage and home. My hubby doesn't seem to be affected like I am. I find parenting hard and stressful especially the noises of two boys, they are very demanding and constantly crying, whining, fighting, asking for something or just playing, but all of these, even the later two, really grate me. I also work full time. I need to sleep with a fan in at night to drown out noises but that's starting to not help so much. Does anyone else find this? I have read it can be stress related but not sure what to do about it.

Yes I find I developed this along with stress depression and anxiety. I have my TV on so quietly when it's on, I can't stand it at other people's houses or when they watch mine and have it so loud. So much noise!!
I think there is a link in everyone to some extent, you know how when you're driving and looking for a street name you turn your radio down. That. Just if youre carrying higher stress you'll need that quiet more easily.
Try meditation classes. I did a sound therapy class it was brilliant. Try to address your stress. I feel mines in check now but I still like things quieter more than I used to.
Yes I have the same thing - very sensitive to loud noise or too much noise. I put the Tv on quietly with subtitles! Although if has just been happening while you are sick I would go see the doctor. I also have 2 boys!
Yes!!!! All the same as you!! I also suffer anxiety and depression and never knew they could possibly be related till now!! I feel your pain
