Doesn't want milk - sick or something else?

Doesn't want milk - sick or something else?

Over the past few days my 14 month old hasn't been herself, she's extremely sulky and hasn't been as bubbly as usual. But one of my main concerns is that she barely has had any of her milk bottles today. She's been on cows milk for 2 weeks now but slowly hasn't been wanting it. I'm not sure if it's because she's sickly, self weaning or if it's the milk??? Her poos haven't been normal either. I bought a lactose free brand tonight and tried her on it for bed but still didn't want any. I'll be taking her to a health nurse very soon if she doesn't perk up tomorrow.
From one very worried first time Mumma!

My girl did this too. She is allergic to dairy.
it started of exactly the same, we went lactose free for 2 weeks then same started, went A2 milk incase of milk protien allergy and the lasted about 3 weeks. In this time cheese n yogurt started causing vomiting and diarrhea, belly aches, temperatures. We took her of dairy completely and it all stopped after a few days to get it out of her system.

we don't like long term effects of soy so we use Almond milk ($3:80 per liter n she drinks nearly 2 a day) , we tried oat n rice milk but one she didn't like n the other caused diarrhea long term. Only soy we use is yogurt.
we have done allergy tests but came back normal... But if u give it to her its obvious how bad it effects her. Tests can be wrong.

if she is refusing milk, chances are that's what's making her sick.
first year my daughter had alot of digestive problems and now I realize it was the dairy in her formula n yogurt.

Go back to the formula you were using. That will quickly tell u if its the milk or something else wrong.

See a doctor, preferably a paediatrician. That being said doctors can only base their recommendations and diagnoses on the evidence they have at hand.
So until you seek medical help I would recommend the following based on my experience with my daughter's dairy allergy (dairy protein not lactose):
1) it takes at least 3 weeks for the body to clear all traces of what we consume, so no dairy whatsoever for at least that long
2) read up on all the alternative milk replacements and consider which one would work in your situation
3) start your child on ultraceuticals baby biotics available from most chemists or health food shops, ask an expert for the dosage sheet, you need to help your child's gut flora get back to a healthy balance
4) after the time in point 1 has elapsed slowly introduce whatever you chose in point 2 and monitor monitor monitor!
Good luck it is such a hard road to travel when they are so young!
