Pap while Preg?

I've just found out I'm pregnant with #3, currently about 5.5 weeks. I was due for a pap in August and never got around to doing it whoops! The doc now what's me to get it done ASAP....while I'm pregnant! I'm not really comfortable with getting one at this point, I'd rather wait until my 6 week check up after Bub.

Has anyone else had this advice or had a pap while preg?

My friend had one during early pregnancy and it was fine. Unless you've had abnormal results before I can't imagine it would do any harm to wait though if that was your personal feelings though

I was overdue for my pap when I found out I was pregnant I was told not to get it done and wait until I gave birth I believe the reason was something along the lines of skewed results or something it was a while ago don't remember. I think I ended up getting it done about 6 weeks after birth? And it was all fine I'd just wait until you are comfortable

My first ever Pap smear was done during my first ever pregnancy. It's no biggie.

I was due for mine at 7w. My gp and ob refused to do it because the chance of miscarrige is too high. So i had mine at my 6 week check up after i had my baby

Just don't do it they can't make you.

When I had abnormal cells it took months for the next biopsy anyway, they said it's so slow to develop, a few months will be ok.

I had to have one done during my last pregnancy because I'd been having extreme cervical pain during sex. It was very early in the pregnancy 5wks along.

They do it differently, rather than scraping the inside of the cervix they do it very gently on the outside of it.

If there is no reason other than the fact that you were due for one then I would simply wait for your post birth 6wk checkup. But if not then there is no harm getting it done so long as the Dr knows you're pregnant.
