How do I tell a friend of mine that I think her child needs speech therapy? Her daughter is 4 and I can't understand her when she talks. She also doesn't talk in complete sentences. I had a child in speech therapy so I know what its like but I also know some people may take offence being told that their child may need a bit of a push in a certain area.

Just say it. If she takes offence and never speaks to you again she wasn't much of a friend to begin with.
That is true.
Her school will help her by guiding her to the services she needs, if you're worried just wait until she's in school and they take care of it.
